Smoke and gas sensor, Alcohol sensor and tilt sensor

Hey guys, what is up. In this particular post, we will be talking about smoke and gas sensor. Also about different types of sensors with their uses.

Updated on 05.10.2021

KEY POINTS

Smoke and gas sensor:

The smoke and gas sensor is one of the most useful sensors for safety purposes. Nearly all office, hotels, and industries have devices which detect smoke that is due to fire. After the detection of smoke, it produces a sound in the form of an alarm. Gas sensors are very common in industries, big kitchens, laboratories. These devices find different gases like Propane, LPG, Butane, Methane, etc. At present these sensors which detect both smoke as well as gases are used. Nowadays these are also fixed in many houses for safety purposes.

MQ series is considered one of the best sensors for smoke and gas detection. MQ sensors are installed in many homes. As they are cheap also. They can detect many gases including CO, CH4, CO2, Propane, Butane, Alcohol, LPG, etc. These sensors can be use by anyone by the humans to make their smoke sensor.

Alcohol sensor:

The alcohol sensor finds the amount of alcohol. This type of sensor is mainly used in breath analyzer devices. That finds whether a person has drunk alcohol or not. Law enforcement workers use breath analyzers at traffic signals to catch the person who breaks the rule. Also catches these types of people as a culprit of drunk-and-drive.

Moreover, MQ3 is the most commonly use alcohol sensor. It is made using an alcohol and gas sensor. It is a very cheap device that can determine the presence of alcohol gas at a concentration of 0.05 mg/L to 10 mg/L. treatment centers for alcohol addiction

Touch sensor:

touch sensor

From the name touch sensor, we all can understand that this device finds the touch of a finger or a pen. In real life, we don’t give importance to touch sensors in the devices. These sensors are one of the most important parts of our lives. All gadgets including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc, have touch sensors in them. One of the most common uses of the touch sensor is trackpads in laptops. Moreover, these are categorize into two main types which are capacitive and resistive type. Basically, all modern devices consist of capacitive type. Capacitive type sensors are more specific and have a greater signal-to-noise ratio.

Colour Sensor:

This type of sensor is considered as one of the beneficial devices in building color feeling applications in the branch of:

  1. Image processing
  2. Color finding
  3. Industrial object tracing
color sensor TCS3200

The TCS3200 is the best color sensor device. It is very simple to use. It can examine any color and produces the result in the form of a square signal. That signal is proportional to the wavelength of the color found.

Humidity Sensor:

If anyone watches weather forecasting systems, then you might be knowing that they provide temperature and humidity data. Detecting and finding humidity is an important job in many fields. This can be done with the help of humidity sensors. Moreover, all these sensors calculate the relative humidity. The relative humidity is a ratio of the amount of water present in the air to the maximum capacity of air to hold water. As we know that relative humidity depends on the temperature of the air, therefore, these devices can also find the temperature. These sensors are also divided into three types capacitive, resistive, and thermal conductive type.

DHT22 smoke and gas sensor

DHT11 and DHT22 are the most commonly use humidity sensor. DHT11 is a resistive type humidity sensor. While DHT22 is a capacitive type.

Tilt Sensor:

This type of sensor is use to find slopes or inclination. Tilt sensors are one of the easy and cheapest sensors out of all sensors. Earlier, tilt sensors were made up of mercury and they were called by names like mercury switches. But in today’s time’s modern tilt sensors consist of a rollerball.
